Born in Bangkok, Taylor grew up in Perth and Brisbane but visited Thai capital, where she has relatives, annually.
“en Thaïlande, I was considered exotic, and at 13, I was already modeling,” said this breathtaking beauty.
Elle a ajouté: “Most Eurasians living overseas hardly speak Thai but I speak, read and write the language. No smart alec can pass remarks about me without getting pounced on!”
à 18, she gave up high school in Brisbane and returned to Bangkok to model full-time.
“en Thaïlande, I am a ‘local farang’ (foreigner). Together with Utt, yet another local farang, I did the Giordano campaign and also appeared in ads for Fanta and Avon.”
Not surprisingly, her fresh-faced charm landed her the girl-next-door role in her first movie, 999-9999, a blockbuster that also resulted in the coveted Channel [Dans] job.
“999-9999 is a horror flick where you dial this number for your wishes to be granted in exchange for your soul. In the movie, I asked to be a VJ for Channel [Dans]».
“The Channel [Dans] crew was there to shoot this segment. I must have sounded so convincing because after the scene, the director asked if I really meant it. I said, “Of course and that was when I prayed I sounded convincing!”
After veejaying for over a year, Taylor has attained celebrity status and is instantly recognized by the younger generation in Thailand.
“I am still unused to signing autographs,” chuckled this vivacious star, adding that she actually preferred catwalk modeling.
“But at 169 cm, I am not that tall and don’t get to catwalk as often as I like.”
Tomorrow, Taylor will be guest emcee at the grand launch party for WH (the new ’sibling’ to British India at Maju Junction on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
Maju Junction jump starts into the fast lane at 7 pm with non-stop hip-hop and happening events.
Local R&B singer Reshmonu is slotted to perform amid skaters, bikers, roller blades and X-Games maestros.
Even the obligatory fashion show will be different, with dancers coming into the act.
Apart from invited guests, anyone can stroll to see Taylor heat up the indoor and outdoor stages.
“I plan to treat the opening like one of my Channel [Dans] shows, where I am merely told the titles of the songs, a bit of gossip and I am let loose! There is no advance preparation.”
I ad-lib a lot and go with the flow. those with enough attitude can drop by Maju Junction from 7pm till late,” dit-elle.
