DATE POSTED: 30 JUNE 2009

‘Shadows’ is in the special effects and editing phases. Four focus groups were held; 2 were in Los Angeles & 2 were in Austin. These groups were attended by participants spanning a wide range of ages, from 15-70. We were happily surprised by an 85% approval rating. In the next few weeks we will be working on some re-shoots and small additions to the film in Los Angeles.
There is a buzz in the industry right now about this film. Our distributor, Arclight, is excited about the pre-sales as we look forward to the Toronto Film Festival and the studio screenings which will begin the bidding war we expect from the major studios. Understand that the need for film content right now by the majors is intense, mainly due to their difficulty in finding bank money to produce the larger films in the $50-100 million range. As reported by Kiplinger, the majors are are desperate for films. Theaters are making the most money right now and films are offering the best returns if they are produced in a slate of films as we are doing. The bottom line is that this is an exceptional time and we are all excited as you should be.

Shadows (Supernatural Thriller / In Production)
Immediately upon arriving in Bangkok, American JEFF, his Thai wife SUA and their son KYLE are hit by a truck while driving to visit Sua’s father.
Six weeks later Jeff regains consciousness in hospital. He’s horrified to learn he’s the only survivor and unsettled by his own lack of grief. Even more unsettling, Jeff begins seeing ghosts, all of whom appear to have died terribly, and he confides in his nurse CHOI.
Choi takes Jeff to spiritual adviser MAE who explains that his family’s souls, having died prematurely and violently, are trapped in the Shadow World and are doomed to relive their moment of death. Only one man knows how to help them, WARREN, an American expat soul surfer.
From Warren, Jeff learns that his own soul is trapped inside the fatal wreck along his wife and child. His soul has never left his family and it’s the reason he’s unable to feel grief. The only way for Jeff to help his family cross over from the Shadow World to a place of rest is for him to enter it and release his family himself.
Getting in is hard enough, but getting out can be impossible.
